What's best about June this year,
SOUTH AFRICA-WORLD CUP 2010

I usually have been a loyal supporter for the Brazilian national team. But this year, I'm not sure anymore.
So, this time around, I'm going to be a supporter to the Germans!!! And the Spaniards.. And the Italians.
Hahaha..!! I seriously dont know which country team to support this time. But I better make up my mind quick cos the game is starting really soon.

And Life Goes On.

Few things had happened since the last I blogged. Bothered me till the extend that I had to cried myself to sleep. Can human be any more cruel to each other? I know so that they can. If I've followed my heart, Bad things will unfold. Thank GOD for bestowing me with smart thinking brain.

On the happier note,
I VERY MUCH FELL IN LOVE WITH MY HAMSTER ALL OVER AGAIN TODAY.

Walking under the sun being baked brought back the memory of when we first 'hang out' only just the two of us. That time there was still no spark of love.
I didnt even care how my hair was.
Till the point when I was sitting opposite him having some drinks to cool off, thats when I'm itching to get to the toilet, to check on my hair.
Sitting so near to him, opposite him, where our knees can collide.
Memories.
Lovely. :)

Her Morning Elegance

A song by OREN LAVIE

Here's the music video for his song, HER MORNING ELEGANCE

Her Morning Elegance music video was made of exactly 2096 still photographs, shot and sequenced to create the sense of movement using stop motion technique.
After going from stills to motion, the artists decided to break the motion back to its still form and exhibit the 2096 individual photographs in gallery exhibitions worldwide.
Each still photograph will be printed once as a single edition print and sold through this website.
Once a photograph is sold, the corresponding second in the video will no longer be available.
With the very last frame sold, the video will have been broken apart, back to its original 2096 pieces, spread worldwide and hung in 2096 homes and galleries.

MONKEY MAJIK - Monkey Majik - With You

Yes, yes, I'm hooked to MONKEY MAJIK!

My Hamster introduced me to this group.

Here's the info I got on the 'group'.

Monkey Majik is a Japanese band composed of two Canadian brothers, Maynard and Blaise Plant, who both perform vocals and guitar, drummer Tax and bassist DICK.

The band is sometimes referred to as a "hybrid-band", as half of the members are foreigners and the lyrics are sung in both English and Japanese.
Much of the band's music has been cross-promoted via television programs, commercials, and movies.

The band has been chosen as “Goodwill Ambassadors” for the 80th anniversary of Japanese-Canadian relations.

Monkey Majik is managed by Edward Limited and are signed to Binyl Records, an avex subsidiary. Their live recordings are handled by Under Horse Records, a record company the band was signed on to before their major label debut.

The band, even after mainstream success, is still based in Sendai, located roughly 350 km from Tokyo. This is contrary to the majority of musicians in Japan, who often move to Tokyo after mainstream success.

To know  more 'bout them, visit their website HERE!

HAMSTER THANK YOU FOR INTRODUCING ME TO THEIR
BOOTY-LICIOUS/ HAND-TAPPING/ FEET-STOMPING SONGS!

~LATELY~

I've been ''really'' busy last week. This week and the weeks ahead too.

Sharing some bits and pieces of what I've been doing lately since my last post. :)

Our group work on Architecture & Culture 301

The group member at work. Before the play began. ;D

Moved to the room downstairs. Such a teeny weeny room. But I managed to plan for maximum space usage.
SPATIAL PLANNING comes handy. :)

My new work station. At the corner of the living room.

OK.
THAT'S IT FOR THIS TIME BEING
Gotta finish this.

And look at HIM!
WAYNE ROONEY MINIATURE!!!

And stare at my desktop wallpaper:

Can Life Give Me More?

No.. I'm not being greedy. I'm just wondering about the question people who are not satisfied will question bout their life.

I'm happy the way my life turns out.

What I went through when I was still young, made me a rebel when I was a teenager. When I was  teenager, I rebelled and get to meet many different people I'd never have thought I'll meet. Boys will be always be boys. That's all I can say. And my girls, you girls are the greatest memories of my teenage years. Even up till now. I'd never trade my place with anyone.

To my parents, sorry for all the headaches I had caused over the years. I had learnt so much. SO MUCH. All the scoldings and lectures, you'd have thought I never think about it. The times when I'm not a chatter box, I'm always thinking deep. Deep thoughts always fills up my head. I will never forget the day my father told my class teacher that I am very much different than the rest of my siblings. At first I thought it's a bad thing, that a lump felt stuck at my throat. Months goes by, and the words kept playing in my head. I realised what he meant by that. I am different from the rest of my siblings.

I am the only one who can connect with each of my siblings. All in a different way. I am the best person to talk to my older brother, whom always thought everyone is being unfair towards him. I can chat happily to my older sister, who is uber nice but sensitive at times. I can make stupid ridiculous jokes with my younger brother, who is still a  mama's boy even now he's 18. And I can make up plans with my younger sister to put on some make up and play with the colors and camera and pretend we're models.

I am the one my father trust to be able to take care of myself. The one my father know is emotionally, mentally and physically capable to stand on my own. When I was sent for a stint in the National Service training, the only thing I complained about is they have ugly shiny shoes for girls. And I refused to wear them to the character building classes. When my dad wanted me to take medicine, along with my older sister, I refused. And when he asked what I wanted to do then, I confidently told him, architecture.

I was the only one who have my own plan right after finishing high school. Who knew what field I wanna be involved in. My parents never have long chats with me over the phone the past 4 years I'm here on my own. I do miss home, but I dont show it. I felt like if I ever show my emotions, I'll be deemed as weak at heart.

Am I really not weak at heart? I don't know... I'm just glad I have someone to share my feelings with, without bothering my parents and make them feel worried.

DO YOU?

A Creed To Live By
-Nancye Sims -

Don't undermine your worth by comparing
yourself with others.
It is because we are different that each of us is special.
Don't set your goals by what other people
deem important.
Only you know what is best for you.
Don't take for granted the things closest to your heart.
Cling to them as you would your life, for without them
life is meaningless.
Don't let your life slip through your fingers
by living in the past or for the future.
By living your life one day at a time,
you live all the days of your life.
Don't give up when you still have something to give.
Nothing is really over until the moment you stop trying.
Don't be afraid to admit that you are less than perfect.
It is this fragile thread that binds us to each other.
Don't be afraid to encounter risks.
It is by taking chances that we learn how to be brave.
Don't shut love out of your life by saying it's impossible to find.
The quickest way to receive love is to give love.
The fastest way to lose love is to hold it too tightly;
and the best way to keep love is to give it wings.
Don't dismiss your dreams.
To be without dreams is to be without hope;
to be without hope is to be without purpose.
Don't run through life so fast that you forget
not only where you've been, but also where you're going.
Life is not a race, but a journey to be savored
each step of the way.

MEAT PUPPETS II

SPLIT MYSELF IN TWO
The man layed his hat on the table / Hung his coat up on the wall / Sat down to dinner said as soon as I am able / I’ll say something nice to you all / Then he took a deck from his pocket / Spread em so I saw em all / Then he turned his back to me shuffled em and drew me / The card that said I never would fall / Oh mary lou won’t you tell me what to do / I got a dollar on the corner and a lazer in my shoe / If I don’t get an answer gonna split myself in two / He spun till a ton was glistening / Turned to me and gave me a smile / He said I’m leaving now but I want what you owe me / I’ll be back in a little while / That was the last time I saw him / Hope I never see him again / I know it sounds funny but I owe him some money / And I really don’t want him for a friend

LOST
Lost on the freeway again / Lookin’ for means to an end / Nobody know which way its gonna bend / Lost on the freeway again / Walkin’ the breezways again / Lookin’ for something my friend / I’ve grown tired of living nixon’s mess / Walkin’ the breezways again/ I know there’ll come a day / When you say that you don’t know me / I know there’ll come a time / When there’s nothing no one owes me any more / Locked in the attic again / Out of the shallow and into the deep end / I’ve got a wound I know will never mend / Locked in the attic again

PLATEAU
Many a hand has scaled the grand old face of the plateau / Some belong to strangers and some to folks you know / Holy ghosts and talk show hosts are planted in the sand / To beautify the foothills and shake the many hands / There’s nothing on the top but a bucket and a mop / And an illustrated book about birds / You see a lot up there but don’t be scared / Who needs action when you got words / When you’re finished with the mop then you can stop and look at what you’ve done / The plateau’s clean, no dirt to be seen and the work it took was fun / Well the many hands began to scan around for the next plateau / Some said it was in greenland and some in mexico / Some decided it was nowhere except for where they stood / But those were all just guesses, wouldn’t help you if they could

WERE HERE
The night is restless but no dream’s in sight / And the sounds have no beginnings or ends / And that glow is not a light / The walls turn into waterfalls with water made of thoughts that call, / “It’s not O.K. To tip the glass don’t make a noise or shed a tear / You’re not the only one that’s you things have changed, now we are here / We are not the king and queen what we are ties in between / The blankets that you’ve never seen but over you are spread” / “We are here,” the voices sing / “We are here,” the echo thunders / “yes we are,” the doorbell rings / “here we are and here in numbers” / The others came in from the hall and thoughts with voices start to call / “It’s not O.K. To tip the glass or smile too long or shed a tear / You’re not alone the way you thought / Things have changed, now we are here”

CLIMBING
Climb, climb, I always climb / Out of bed in the morning on a mountain made of sand / And I know this doesn’t rhyme / But the clutter on the table has been getting out of hand / I know that you tried to see me through / But honey I’m still having trouble finding out what’s you / Time, time, it’s so sublime / Well they say it’s non-existant but it’s playing with my mind / And phone calls don’t cost a dime / In the caverns of your feelings where the sun will never shine / Mine, mine, which things are mine? / Well I thought I saw a few before I found out I was blind / And I think I see a sign / And it’s saying where to go and when I get there what i’ll find

NEW GODS
How much do I owe you? / I’ll pay but I don’t want to / Days of where I came from / In a restaurant in mexico / They told me not to drink the water / And not to touch the food / “All we got is pepsi cola / And we know that it won’t hold / You but remember what we told / You no one else knows what’s in store / Remember that we told you”

OH, ME
If I had to lose a mile / If I had to touch feelings / I would lose my soul / The way I do / I don’t have to think / I only have to do it / The results are always perfect / And that’s old news / Would you like to hear my voice / Sweetened with emotion / Invented at your birth? / I can’t see the end of me / My whole expanse I cannot see / I formulate infinity / And store it deep inside of me

LAKE OF FIRE
Where do bad folks go when they die? / They don’t go to heaven where the angels fly / They go down to the lake of fire and fry / Won’t see’ em again till the fourth of July / I knew a lady who lived in duluth / She got bit by a dog with a rabid tooth / But she went to her grave a little too soon / And she flew away howling at the yellow moon / Now the people cry and the people moan / And they look for a dry place to call their home / And try to find some place to rest their bones / While the angels and the devils fight to claim them for their own

THE WHISTLING SONG
It’s the shadow in the dark / It’s the silver in the park / It’s the broken, faded bird / You’ve learned to call your heart / It’s not a border you can see / Just as plain as you or me / I can’t throw the lock back / And I don’t have the key / It hovers in the living room / Just above the door / It whistles while it hangs there / Feathers dripping from every pore / They show the spectacle of falling / And settle to the floor

ARCHITECTURE & CULTURE 301

I slept at 5am on the morning of  May 6th. And I woke up at 9am. went off to catch the 10am bus, submitted my tutorial paper, and back to waiting for the bus back 30 minutes later. All because of this particular subject.

Culture subject is one of those subject that I used to wonder why is it one of the core paper for this Architecture Science course. After Culture 201 (which comes after Culture 101 & Culture 102, and before Culture 202, 301 & 302.), it's then I realized the reason why it is compulsory. I start to liek it even. I dont feel forced to listen to the lectures.

Architecture & Culture thought us the many beautiful architecture around the world. The origin of the School of Architecture & Build Environment. The founding father of modern architecture. The meaning behind the WHY this X building/house is like that. There's a reason for every carvings, the reason for every nook & cranny.

This semester, the big question is 'Malaysian Architecture & its Identity Crisis'. Does Malaysia have it's own architecture identity. Shanghai World Expo 2010 is to be held soon. The theme this year is PAVILLION. It is where And Malaysia submitted this:

And HERE is the link to see the professional review on it.

Wanna se what the other countries have to offer???

All of these are submitted by countries such as Russia, Belgium, Germany & etc.

There's even Pavillions by fellow Asian countries. Pakistan, India, and neighbouring countries, Singapore & Thailand.

What do you say?

DOES MALAYSIA HAVE THEIR OWN ARCHITECTURE IDENTITY?

OR DO YOU AGREE WITH ME THAT MALAYSIA HAVE IDENTITY CRISIS IN TERMS OF ARCHITECTURE?
